Al; Please don't take my "majority rules" comment out of context. Of course majority rules ... when it comes to voting in new club officers and voting out unpopular Board Members who have voted against the wishes of the membership.
My reference to "majority rules" was in response to Larry's post in which he hoped that "majority rules" with respect to opinion polls taken on this message board. I don't think that the elected Board (no matter who is in office) is going to conduct a poll before making every decision that comes down the pike. And if there are those members who repeatedly threaten to resign everytime a particular decision does not go their way ... shame on them.
Larry said; "Other chat rooms/message boards I belong to have the ability to post surveys. This may be a great way to really see what the members feel objectively (once a vote is cast in the survey, it displays the current tally and prohibits you from voting again).
I hope the majority rules in this decision... my vote would be to allow anyone with useful information to publish an article in the magazine if it serves the membership in the pursuit of knowledge of Casino Chips & Gaming Tokens."
Al; Do you think that majority rules in this specific situation regarding the article submitted by Mel Jung on his memories of Bruce Landau? Should all readers of thechipboard.com have been consulted before an Editor decides what is fit for publication in our fine magazine? If so, I don't think we would like to risk the possibility of losing the unappreciated services of the current and very capable Magazine Editor.
