I was there to witness Don Drysdale fight Billy Bruton, Johnny Logan and Eddie Matthews all at once. Logan made the mistake of coming to bat right after Bruton had hit his second home run of the day. Logan had gone down twice after the first homer and Drysdale nailed him on the first pitch after the second. Matthews was in the on deck circle and arrived at the mound the same time as Logan. Bruton was a step behind.
Loved the Symphoney musicians, used to watch Happy Felton's Knothole Gang every Saturday.
My dad never forgave Walter O'Malley for the move.
A piece of trivia - Walter Johnson continues to hold the record for lowest ERA for California high schools.
