My God.

I couldn't believe what I saw and heard on the news yesterday... I couldn't believe it, and I still can't... I watched several times the reply of the Shuttle Columbia re-entry and break-up over Tx... My God.

The first thing I thought of was - No, way... It isn't real. No this ISN'T real... Yet sadly to say it was real... Then a flash back to 1986 and watching Challenger blow-up roughly a minute after take-off... Not again, I thought...

My heart is out to the seven families that lost loved ones on Saturday 01 Feb. 2003. My heart is also out to the NASA family.
Even though I didn't work for NASA, I am working for a company that works on NASA contracts. In fact I worked on the S-Band Communication system for the Shuttle back in the early 80's (actually 1981 - 1984). I have two computers on board each of the Space Shuttles, or STS Vehicles (Space Transport System)...

I'm still stunned... I don't know what to say...
