While I haven't paid much for the Paulson store chips, I did pay $3 for one I needed, which is "alot" for my frugal, Scottish, "CHEAP" collecting motivations. lol
As for ashtrays, I think I might have paid a buck for one, but since I don't have a whole house (like Some People ) I just can't take on much more without having the two semi-trailers, my parents basement, my closets, and transient box of stuff at the office. Usually my best hunting ground for ashtrays has been Goodwill, St. Vincent, Salvation Army and others, which demand 39c most of the time. Rummage sales, really take it out of me, usually 50c around here. But if I ever found something like your $700 ashtray, I'd sell the whole bunch and feel my quest was complete. Nice prize!
