() ... was that he was pricing the cleaned up chips at 10% of the uncancelled value (more or less), not 10% off the uncancelled value! 
BTW, Pete, I think they cleaned up rather nicely, though you're going to be in the dog house with some people here for doing it! 
As to which I prefer, I think they would look nice displayed one with and one without the cancellation, side by side for comparison purposes.
