Hi Jim,
Do you really believe because a practice is prohibited on eBay it won't take place? Please Jim, I hope you don't believe that.
If I choose to maintain my silence because I have no proof, why do you find that unacceptable? I laugh because I see all you people warning purchasers about fake chips - while our club members (dealers included) purchase "one of a kinds" in their business and at auctions - yeah, right! One of a kinds until the "truth" comes out. They buy California chips as Nevada. They buy "rare" pieces when boxes are the truth.
I have stated it before and I will state it again. Want to clean up the club auction? - post the name of the consignor BEFORE the auction. If you discover a consignor using a confederate to place pieces in auction - ban the individual. Will this happen??? - You got to be kidding!!!!
Worry about eBay. It is less stress inducing and you don't have to look the individual in the eye when you "givem hell" for selling fake chips. After all we are protecting purchasers of under $50.00 items - noble, but in my opinion a waste of very precious time. Thanks for your note. Best, Jim
