Al, it has been suggested that the $1 tokens are used at the BJ tables in hopes that you'll feed any left in the slot machines on your way to the cage or the door. Also, flying heavy metal might be somewhat dangerous on the craps tables.

Whether these reasons have any validity or not, I'm not sure, but might be why.
