I also wonder why some people say do not use Checkout.

As for no paypal with credit cards, that just means that I don;t bid - even if I have a paypal balance at the moment, I may have used it by the time a particular auction finished and so then would not be able to pay. Does the small extra charge to the seller really warrant turning down bids?
