Speaking as a hobbyist as opposed to an investor, I am happy with the "500" ruling as this makes it easier for me to collect $25.00 chips at a fairer price. My new chip service provider had a difficult time obtaining $25.00 chips from certain places (e.g. Hard Rock) and if he did get them then he could demand and get top dollar for them on ebay. This way, I might be able to get some as well and fairly inexpensively.

As far as past issues of chips I don't think this ruling will have any effect.
