The inlays are a piece of paper heat stamped on the blanks. Actually 3 pieces on paper. Front, obverse, and rims. In order to run notched chips, the entire process has to be set up and run.
IMO, the notched and the rack was run at the same time from "approved artwork." To order a re-run would have caused the Cannery the cost of two racks, a considerable sum.
IMO, you will see "North" on all re-orders.
