Re: A Chipper's First Trip Report and Chips for trade

Good going Will. Isn't this fun? Every trade will bring something new into your collection and you learn as you go. Even better, you get to go to the casinos and have fun, without betting.

Color Up? "Oh I'm just going to the restroom, I'll be right back..."

Getting $1, 25c, 50c or $2.50 chips is much harder than anything else. $1's can be bought with ease, even at $5 tables. I usually look for one that isn't being played, or isn't busy.

Some places will sell you chips off the tables. Since you only need a small number, ask for a dollars worth of 25c (maybe $2?) or a few bucks worth of 50c. I don't think they would like it if you asked for $10 worth of 25c chips, since they cost more than that to make. grin

With luck you might find a friendly dealer who will sell you $10 worth of $2.50s and that's a nice even four.

But the point is, $5 are easy, anything higher just takes more cash. $2.50 and down might take a little more talking or playing the game.
