Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to share with you all some new information.
As some of you know I help a few casinos create casino chips and make sure they take care off all the dealers by makeing at easy as possible for them.
So I deal with the Nevada Gaming Comission a lot.
Well we just found on friday about a new rule.
From now on every LE casino Chip issued has to have a minimum mintage of 500 per chip , no matter what denomination.
Which means you will not see to many more $25 or $100 chips issued. Also you will not see $1 chips issued with most releases. Because Casinos actually lose money on those , but they do them to give back to the collectors and by doing $25 chips and $100 chips it offsets.
There will be New Years Chips at :
Opera House
Silver Nugget
and Sunset Station
and at all 3 properties the $25's and $100's have been rejected because of this new rule.
Opera House and SN will issue 450 $5 and $2.50 and the gaming commission made and exception for this release because of the late notification. But from now on it has to be 500.
I think this is a major negative for the hobby and I will hope that the gaming comission will change their mind in the future. But for now it doesn't look like it.
