The point in my post is/was; that same Tunica local you mentioned, if given a card or applying for a card in Atlantic City tomorrow, would be given his Tunica account number on the card. So the bottom line is that the card itself (using the first three digits as a criteria) is not from Tunica ... or Atlantic City. It is merely a reflection of where the card holder opened his/her initial account... not where the card was obtained.
Don't read me wrong Jim... I'm not arguing with anyone. Everyone is free to establish their own collecting preferences or parameters. My guide to collecting slot cards is to discount anything that is applied to the card locally... with the exception of stickers. Only what appears on the card from the manufacturer is my concern. I know that others collect differently, and I accept those personal choices. Some folks want the same card with embossed names vs. hot stamp names and consider them as two different variations. To me, they simply went through two different imprint machines at different times at the local casino.
