Hi Steve; Don't feel too bad. There's not a collector out here, whether he/she be into chips, tokens, coins, paper money, baseball cards, buttons, pins, etc., who has not paid more than he/she should have for a particular item. It's figured into the cost of getting an education. My daddy used to tell me, "son, if you want to learn how to shoot pool, be prepared to buy a few rounds of drinks".
