Thank you for the warm welcome, Jim. If there's one thing I've noticed, it's how ACTIVE this board is. I made my first post earlier and have had 4 responses within 2 hours. It's really keeping me busy trying to respond to them all! There's been some great advice so far.
First and foremost, I don't have a single chip. I recently ordered some clay poker chips online to play poker with at home, and I came across all the cool chip collecting auctions on eBay - which of course, piqued my interest. It's something that I definitely think I'd like to get into.
My favorites are the really detailed colorful ones like those from the Hard Rock and Four Queens (I haven't looked at enough yet to see who else has others that nice). I don't think I'm interested in atique chips as I think that could quickly exceed my budget, plus they just don't look as cool to me. I guess I'll start with the $1's as well, again, since it fits well with my limited pocketbook. I've just got this image of a cool set of chips on green velvet in a shadow box hanging on my wall or sitting on my desk.
I've seen the web site for the chip collecting club, and the one for the chapter closest to me (Deep South), but I haven't contacted them yet. I guess I'd like to have a few chips before showing up at a meeting with nothing to trade.
Thanks again for the advice,
Will
