THE DO’S
Do unto others.
Do have fun.
Do get involved.
Do join the CC>CC Chip Collectors and Gaming Tokens Collector’s Club.
Do join a local chapter.
Do join your specialty chapter(s)-- Slabfree, Silver Strike, Slot Card & Room Key, and ????
Do attend annual Convention by Pre-registering.
Do volunteer to help at the convention.
Do allow time to socialize, trade, and walk the show; and of course chip runs.
Do visit both the Club site http://www.ccgtcc.com/ and the board http://www.thechipboard.com
Do learn about your collecting.
Do invest in reference books for information and price guides.
Do contribute to the board in between lurking; or any other forum you attend.
Do ask those Questions - we all need the answer.
Do find one or two established collectors to ask questions and / or advise.
Do find one or two new collecting friends to learn and travel with to shows, garage sales, antique shops and the convention.
Do tell everyone what you collect and carry examples --- chip, token, silver strike, slot card, etc.
Do collect what YOU like, your taste, interest, storage space, or wallet will limit your collection eventually .
Do start a data base on your collection immediately.
Do maintain inventory, scans, address book, who, what, when, where, how much, and result of each transaction; including profile of the other persons likes etc.
Do develop a wanted list and a traders list.
Do mail chips in bubble envelop, always!
Do wrap each chip individually before putting in bubble envelop.
Do send paperwork with payment or shipment.
Do follow thru with proposals - “I want to trade” - work at it, it may have to be 3 or 4 way deal.
Do verify chip bought/sold/traded is as described - scan both sides to clearly describe.
Do leave feedback for a buy or sell and confirmation e-mail on a trade when it is completed.
Do insure both your collection and /or shipment at your $ comfort level.
THE DON’TS
Don’t clean it, if it is for trade or sell.
Don’t buy/sell/trade until you have checked your inventory, otherwise you might be increasing your duplicates or losing your one of a kind jewels.
Don’t pooh what you don’t collect, it is someone else’s jewel.
Don’t get impatient for chips -- they show up all the time and sometimes for less.
Don’t let Jill see your Harrah’s collection.
Don’t spit into the wind.
