Royal Seas sailed as a real cruise ship in 1996 with both 5 day cruises to Mexico and weekend poker cruises to nowhere out of Port Manatee near
Bradenton, Florida. I have first hand knowledge as I sailed on it many times. It was part of a
Russian cruise line that was purchased by a group of businessman associated with the Seminole Indians in Tampa. It ssiled in the Spring of
1996. I went on two 5 day crusies and at least 2
weekend cruises to nowhere. It then became the
SeaEscape in Ft. Lauderdale in about SEpt, 1996.
It used the Royal Seas chips for about 6 months
and then issued the SeaExcape chips that are now
being used and still in use. They have renamed the ship but I cannot think of it at this moment.
The Royal Venture issued chips but never sailed.
Totally different situation. Hope that helps.
