The reason why you can find chips at yard sales is that most people don't think they are worth anything so they don't bring them out. Be prepared for the disappointing reply of " MY mother/father/aunt when to ___ all the time, but we knew we won't so I threw all that stuff away." I make it a practice to not look around but walk up to the operator and ask " Do you have any matches, ashtrays napkins, chips, tokens, anything with a casino on it." Last Thursday I hit one that none of these items were even considered to be sold at the yard sale.
4 silver strikes, 37 $1 chips, 4 tokens, 67 slotcards, 4 casino shirts, 1 jacket, 2 keychains, a number of hand wipes, 87 books of matches.
It took four trips and three days to finally get them after the operators found them. I always leave a card with PH NO and write " CASINO " on it. I also always carry a chip or two and some slot cards. Hope this might increase you hit frequency.
