If the people referred to as "we" (old people) did so well under the conditions given to them, then why did they allow all of the things to change into the way they are today?

It certainly wasn't "we" young folks, there was no choice in the matter, "we" grew into it.

For some reason, all of things changed... for a reason, and it can't be blamed on the kids growing up into it.
