I finally got paid for working T&S this year, but most events are still "work for food and free beer afterwards" because of the track contracts and the orginizations running them. Paid staff? What's that? Corner workers and observers are paid for weekdays, but volunteers weekends.
Working corners? Some call it the best seat in the house and it's free, I like it. Even better for me is timing and scoring with transponders, computers, Cronomix, and other toys.
Does your service provide straight line events only or do you do "roundy roundy", road courses, sports cars, rallies and others?
I would have guessed that the NHRA would have a public information director and do that themself?
