And what's the "deal" behind this?
Is it a on-running thing? or pay as you go? or ??????
A friend of Doug's named Hank Boss took a fancy to T R King chips and started collecting Large and Small Crown chips. Finally he ended up with what was probably the largest collection of these chips and ongoing attribution by T R King has really enhanced the historical value of these chips to the hobby. Doug is now autioning off his friend's collection, divided into groups. The Las Vegas chips have been processed and the Reno stuff is going now and I imagine there is an upcoming Other Nevada group and California also. Doug's auction catalogues are similar to his Chip Chat auction and chip sale periodical, full of historical chip/casino/people reference, pictures and stories. Doug has had a fondness for gaming for much of his life and has graced the hobby with his accounts of chipping with a couple of other collecting pioneers, Harvey Fuller and Phil Jensen. Current info on the auctions and a subscriber rate on the catalogues can be had from Chip Chat or you can keep your ear to the ground here on the board.
