I've been trying to figure this out for years, Terry (your question) and just about gave up correcting those who have been calling clay poker chips Catalin and plastic chips Ivory... and so on. At first I used to believe that it was simply due to a lack of knowledge, but after some of us explained exactly what it was they were selling, they would repeat an auction with the same chips saying the same bunch of misinformation. You're only into casino chips (I assume) but those who collect the world; casino, poker and gaming really see what's going on beyong casino.
