I have not been to the Iowa riverboats for quite some time but if they are like the ones in Indiana, keep in mind that they charge for the privledge of getting on their boat (up to $10 on Friday and Saturday nights). That is a lot of money for a 10 minute trip unless you are picking up a lot of chips to sell or trade. You may be better off gambling for a while and enjoying the casino. BTW most of the boats that I visit have coupons in the local papers or available at local motels. Sometimes they are good for a free trip. Good luck.
