I don't think I made myself clear. Initially Travis brought up a possible problem with the issuance of the chip sets. I said, in effect, that the problem lies in the chips made by collectors as collectibles or faux collectibles.
I have no problem with homemade sets like those produced by Jim, especially when they are clearly advertised as such.
Now Rene's chips are not for home use. They were made to be collected as one would collect any other casino chip.
Now you may not make a distinction between a 500 piece home set (clearly maked as such) and marketed for use at home and an 8 piece set (probably limited edition to boot) that is meant to be sold to all Vegas chip collectors. Maybe it's like pornography, hard to describe but easy to recognize,
BTW, I had a home set made for me by Jim Blanchard. I have been asked to sell a chip. I would rather give them to those I thought would appreciate them. Selling them to a fellow club members just doesn't feel right. This feeling, however, does not extend to no members.
Again, I have no problem with the Blanchard home sets.
