Jim, I find your concepts and application of law very interesting. I am not an attorney but a CPA whose knowledge of the law and its application is limited. However, with that said I find it interesting you completely ignore the concept of bailment. Your discussion centers on "paid" and "possession" without there application to a bailment situation. In addition, one does not have to post a sign to protect ones property from "stealing". It is common law that title does not pass unless the buyer and seller wishes so. I also find it interesting you called the enforcement divisions to get support involving legal concepts that are generally accepted throughout the business world. In my opinion, no matter how one tries - you cannot convert a "bailment" transaction into a purchase transaction without the consent of both parties involved. I don't need a law degree to see that!!!
