Thanks for the advice, although my home PC is getting old and would probably give up and die if I tried anything more than retrieving emails and preparing the odd scan!

However, once the new series is over, if anyone does want to borrow the tapes (PAL format) either to watch or copy to NTSC (maybe for the club library) then they will be very welcome.
