The chip in question has a mis-spelled word.... which does not make it an error (in my humble opinion) ... unless only a few chips were discovered with the typo mistake. A similar thing happened on an Atlantic City chip when Claridge issued a chip for Belle Starr in which no "e" appeared on the end of Belle's first name. No replacement chips were issued ... so all Bell Starr chips are the same.
I also agree with Gene. When I see a chip offered on ebay as an "error" ... my initial assumption is that it is valuable.... and worth taking a look.
On the other hand, if the chip is withdrawn and a replacement has been ordered ... then Jack is correct in that the mistake chip was pulled.... which could be considered scarce sometime down the road.
