Thanks for the information! And I hope you get your picture on a chip, too! And have I told you, lately, that I'm eternally grateful to you for posting that picture of the Apache CASINO? I now have a copy of the same picture.
I don't really object (much) to TGT calling the Commercial "Commercial Hotel", even though the building says "Commercial Casino"...but TGT says it closed in 1998. It's open now, cuz I played 5¢ joker poker there, and they didn't have bill validators...I had to feed the darn thing one nickel at a time!
You said: "The other side of the token, BTW, said Commercial Hotel and showed that big ol' bear. I figure he was way lost and deserved to get stuffed - polar bears in Elko aren't exactly a common sight!"
THAT polar bear is a very common sight in Elko. I have a postcard of the Commercial Hotel, that someone dated 7/13/60...across the street is a billboard with an arrow pointing to the Commercial Hotel and the Monte Carlo Casino. Guess who's on the billboard......yup...White King. (He's also on a couple of ashtrays and a $1 chip I got a few years ago)
