>>How is that different from Bill Akeman ordering chips for his show a few years ago? Rene had chips made for his show lastyear. I bought a set. I don't remember any flak about that.
The difference was that those chips were not issued by the casinos.
>>As usual, we would have a choice of buying the chips or not. I see nothing wrong with Rene making a few bucks on the chips.
I have no problem with Rene making money. I am simply suggesting that this particular arrangement is not good for the hobby, just as one collector buying up an entire Hard Rock Release would not be good for the hobby.
>>I truly believe that Rene is trying to do something good for collectors.
I also believe that Rene believes this is good for collectors. I have never suggested his intentions are not good.
>>Isn't this free enterprise and the American way?
I have not said that Rene should not be able to buy these chips and sell them as he had planned to do (And I certainly don't think GCB should be involved). I have said that it is bad for the hobby and I hoped to convince Rene that a situation where a quantity of chips became available at the cage (even if at a later date) was a more reasonable situation. I hoped also to convince others who might seek to make similar arrangements with other casinos that this would be bad for the hobby. Isn't that the American way?
