Hi Tom ----- I have had some success (and a couple of spectacular failures) using a microwave to flatten a warped chip. I suggest you experiment on some you don't mind ruining first to see how your microwave works. Also, I think it depends on what material the chip is made of -- microwave seems to work best on clay chips. Make sure you place the chip on a flat surface -- some of the ones I did simply flattened to the surface (melted one right onto it, too!). Others simply softened a little and still had to be flattened after being removed from the microwave (chip-sized aluminum disks seemed to work best for this). I literally boiled one chip that I was trying to flatten; the surface bubbled up when I let it get too hot. So be careful, especially if your warped chip is valuable. [g] ----- jim o\-S
