Greetings from New England:
I just read all the posts responding to my post: " 'Calling All Cars.' Chip Police Needed." I must say I am quite surprised at the passivity. When I started reviewing the posts on this board at the beginning of this year the was an uproar about one "swastika" chip listed on ebay as a Nazi chip. The seller was emailed, the buyer was emailed, all hell broke loose. Now someone is selling a set of these chips, under obviously false pretenses, and WE don't care.
"Let the buyer beware". (Sure as long as its not YOU as the buyer.) I read two comments that I feel I must address. First, its POSSIBLE that these chips did come from a veteran who "souvenired" them from a German castle during WWII. Come on guys, give me a break! I have a drawing done by my neice when she was five years old that looks like a Picasso. If I attempted to sell it and represented it as a Picasso would this be fair? Second, the price of these chips. I have seen these chips at flea markets for $0.25 to $1.00 each. Is the potential buyer really getting a good deal? Can he/she resell the chips at a profit? Think about it. Nope. As for the case, take a trip to a New England flea market or garage sale sometime. Cases like this are a dime a dozen!
Ladies and Gentlemen, I am disappointed!
Dave
