At first, the game is confusing because of the rotation of the players. 1 plays 2, the winner plays 3 and the loser goes to the end of the line, and so forth. The first time I went, I couldn't understand why someone would be rooting for a certain player to win a point, and then root against him on the next point. It all has to do with the betting - quinellas, trifectas, etc.
Once you understand the scoring, it's a great game to watch. A game can last 15 to 20 minutes, and you have a rooting interest on almost every point.
