Yes, "Frisco" has always been considered a disparaging term by old-time San Franciscans such as myself (I was born in S.F.) Our late but best-loved columnist at The San Francisco Chronicle (the area's largest newspaper where I've toiled for more than a quarter-century) wrote a book in the '50s which he titled "Don't Call It Frisco."

On the other hand, if this new casino wants to offer any special benefits to native San Franciscans, I'm sure I could overlook the "Frisco." <bg>
