Here's what you do:

Bring the scanned image into a graphics editor program like Adobe Photoshop. Set your select tool to be 'round'. Select just the inlay and use the 'brightness' or 'levels' to brighten up the silvered inlay. Save the result and you have what you see below. I know of no way to have a scan program to do this automatically.
