I think you guys are being a little bit judgemental...Entwistle was part of the 60s British revolution music wise. Old habits die hard, for better or for worse. The bottom line is that the world has again lost another great rock and roller due to a preventable cause. As one who ran in rock and roll circles for the better part of the 80s, I came to learn that this sort of behavior was par for the course. Not to justify or advocate drug use, just trying to put a little perspective on things. There is a human side to these issues (right or wrong) and either way we should get past the cause and and onto the bottom line- death.
