I think I once bought a couple of chips for $35 each. I promptly sold them, talk about CHEAP!
I think the most expensive chip I own cost me $25 and that was face. I could be wrong, because I know I bought the Fremont $25 that was a known counterfeit. But that's about it.
That's not to say I don't have any chips that are listed in the book for more, it's just that my El Cheapo, having fun attitude, led me to stick with shallow pocket chip collecting. I put my most expensive items in the club auctions over the years.
I just can't wait to get some more $1 chips for my collection. Great to look at and great value.
As for an honest answer to your question, I would guess that many people have taken some pretty hard hits on their other investments and maybe are considering having less extra income for hobby and discretionary spending?
All of the chips you listed look like good buys for someone who collects that type chip and they will probably hold a good value in the future. It's a buyers market!
