Re: I Suggest....
In Response To: Re: I Suggest.... ()

I am getting more and more curious about all of this. I would like to refer you to my post below. You say you have gotten several of these this week or so and it sounds like they came from different members. Check the line in the Header/Footer(?) that says Return Path and see what name is there. Are they different from the sender? Are they the same on all the mails? Is the address another Chipper? That could point to the infected party. Jill may not be infected and whoever is on the Sender of the mail may not be infected.

Definately I wouldn't open such an email attachment. Or the mail if you can avoid it. As an AOL subscriber I, personally, don't have to worry about opening letters as the attachments do not load onto my computer unless I select "Download Now" on the mail. Otherwise they stay on AOL's server. Some email softwares download the mail, and the file, when you click an item on your mailbox. Others will dowload all mail and attachments onto your computer when you open the program. Some, depending how you have them set up, may even open all mail and files when you open the program. Outlook is the least secure, from my understanding, and does not offer some essential safeguards. Eudora on the other hand, while I understand it will download files into a separate file on your computer, you can select a preference to not open any files. In this case you may still be able to simply delete them. I would also caution that when you get suspicious emails that contain Hyperlinks, do not click on the links either. Sometimes those can launch a virus or worm onto your system.
