House of the RISING SUN

The song goes: "There is a house in New Orleans they call the RISING SUN. And it been the ruin of many a poor boy..." Fact or fiction? Not only does it seem the Rising Sun was a reality, it seems as though there was a bit of illegal gambling there also. And where there is gambling...you
guessed it...there are chips.

The box end-label reads "100, 1 9/16, Taylor-Made, harp {mold}, non-duplicating dealing checks, monogram registered {stamped 'red'} Taylor & Co., Chicago, Illonois. They were used at the RISING SUN gambling/bootleg "establishment" in the Mississippi Delta up until it burned in the
1950's.

Obviously, it you are an "illegals" collector, having this chip in your collection is a must. These chips are dark red, harp mold, have no inserts and a black hotstamp. The hotstamps range from being nearly intact to being nearly gone. All, however, are clearly readable and say, RISING SUN.

If you would like to order one of these fascinating chips, e-mail me at
CQFH54A@prodigy.com or call 1-888-CHIPS-97. They are priced at $30. First repliers get best hotstamps.
