Re: BEST JEWISH DELI IN VEGAS?
In Response To: Re: BEST JEWISH DELI IN VEGAS? ()

Hi Andy,
Years ago (late 69 early 70) in Chicago, I believe on Ashland Ave. use to be a deli called Braverman's. It had the best cornbeef and pastrami sandwiches in the world.<g> While working for the GAO (US General Accounting Office) many of us would go there for lunch. I would always get my cornbeef on an onion roll. Man!!! it was great. Lean meat piled 3 inches high and as tender as it comes.

The Horseshoe deli reminds me of Braverman's. Although I don't get my sandwich on an onion roll (the rye bread is better) it is fantastic! The water here in Nevada stinks. No one can make "good" bread or rolls. They may tell you it's like Chicago or New York, etc. don't believe it. Without the water it comes out poor. The rye bread at the Horseshoe deli is alright - average. Probably as good as you can get in the State. Anyone who orders their sandwiches (including brisket) will not be sorry or go away hungry.<VBG> Best, Jim
