Copyright infringement goes farther than you think
In Response To: So does that mean.... ()

Once again, posting it here is a copyright, not a trademark violation.

No one believes the copmpany is posting here, so no trademark infringement. If one of us printed a Palms chip withour face in it like Gene's, however, and we didn't work there, that WOULD be trademark infringement, because it implies we work there.

You are, however, stealing their artwork when you post a scan of a chip here. That would normally be a copyright infringement. If you are doing it to illustrate a product for sale only, I would think it would be OK (I'm guessing that's a "fair use" but not sure). But if you attach it regularly as a signature, yes, you're stealing.

More interestingly, if I get lazy and steal your scan from your eBay auction to illustrate my eBay auction of the same chip, I am violating your copyright. Yes, you own a copyright in your scan.

I love intellectual property.

Been drinkin and gambling, excuse the spelling.
