Jim, your post was well said, in the absence of the V.P. In response to Bob Orme, I would suggest that you re-read Janice's post. She explained the difference between a local club and a chapter and the relationship between CC&GTCC and ANA. We are a member club of ANA.... not a "sub-chapter". I don't ever recall reading or hearing any reference from any club officer that CC&GTCC was an ANA "sub-chapter", nor have I heard a comparison that we were a labor organization either. Some folks may want to look up the two terms "club" and "chapter" in the dictionary. It may help to clear up a few misconceptions some may have. Like everything else in any organization, we must work from within to improve. Allow the new board to wrestle with the problem and I'm sure it will receive the proper attention. Anybody who disagrees is welcome to submit a propsal for change. Having said that, it takes time to accomplish the change. A series of posts on a public bulletin board changes nothing. First, the proposal has to be published in the club magazine, then it must be sent to the membership for their vote within 30 days of the annual convention. So any proposals anyone may be thinking about now, can not be enacted until our year 2000 convention. That's the way the present language reads. Lastly, please allow me to state that I would prefer to see these club related issues posted on the club message board. That is what the club board was created for. (No offense Greg). Regards, Archie
