I am researching an illegal casino in Morris, Il., where I now live, and need some help from the illegal collectors. The casino name is "Seven Gabels". I have spent some time talking with some local oldtimers as well as the daughter of the original owners. I am getting conflicting stories on the number of variaties of chips in play at this illegal club. Several of the people I have talked to have stated that there were up to five different chips used at various times at this club. I have not been able to come up with any! If you have any from this club I would appreciate any information you could provide me.
I am also researching five clubs in my hometown of LaSalle, Il. and on the verge of obtaining chips from two of these, Kelly & Cawley's and The Stables. This town was known as "Little Reno" in the late 40's and early 50's. If you have any info. on clubs here I would appreciate it.
