I find some chips are cool for their color, some for their theme, some for their history, some just for their function, and all just because they are fun to play with.

In a wider sense, I wonder what the "collector's bug" actually is - you know, what purpose it serves for the collector. A friend of mine collects dinosaur fossils and I've always wanted to ask him that. I think he'd have a very interesting answer, as would we all. But hard to articulate, don't you think?
