Very interesting, Pam. But my recollection differs just a bit. I seem to recall reading that the Northern Club was the first gaming license issued in 1931 in the state, not just in Clark County.

And I also remember reading that it wasn't "Maymie" but "Mayme" Stocker, and she was a he!

I'll have to see if I can dig that out from somewhere other than the far recesses of my brain, which is mostly overstuffed with completely useless information!
