I've heard this story over and over. If it's true, I can retire. I had the same problem with fax sales offers. Stock tips and total junk. Wisconsin has a very strong law against this, if one responds and asks to be removed.
At first I was getting one or two a week, So I started faxing back, thinking it would help. Well I got removed from those few and now I get about eight a week. I'm just about ready to start a notebook, but I know they are from the same places, using a different identity, and they are selling the confirmed, good fax number list, so it's futile. They just keep changing IDs and services.
Oh by the way, one more thing I forgot to mention, which if free and anyone can use it.
It's a remote mail reader, you just type in your full email address with the service name, for example "yourname@yourservice.com" and your password. Instead of loading all the messages to your computer, it just lists the subject and the sender. You can click on boxes, and delete them. It doesn't alter messages on your service, or mark them as read, but it does delete them. Then you go and pick up mail and only get the messages you didn't delete.
Click, click, click, delete, and they are all gone in a couple of seconds. You don't have to wait for all of that spam to download, you don't have to fill your drive with spam, delete and empty the trash. They just get dumped, and you never see them again.
