First, I apologize for the size of the scan; at the office I do not the soft ware enabling me to reduce the size of the scans.
Here is my contribution to the dispute. I originally bid on this chip on but retrcted it when I learned on this board that the chip might have been manufactured or recreated. I believe the original poster reported that the seller (Jack Segal) told him he, Jack, could "make" more. Clearly the chip is authentic. It shows some but not a lot of table ware; edges are sharp; a couple of small nicks. It is well worth the amount I bid for it ($50) regardless of how many other chips the seller may have.
As to the other matter--the number of chips available. I do not have any first hand information on that issue. It is rated "S" in TCR and $150 to $300 depending on the condition, in Campiglia & Wells book. Even if there is a box of a 100 of them in Mr. Segal's possession, the price I paid is more than fair. As I copied it,the original post warning said:
"BEWARE!!CAVEAT EMPTOR!! A guy named Jack Siegel(says he lives 1/2inSo.Cal.and inVegas)had me sell 4 indiv. chips for him($25+$5Joby'sMonteCarlo--$1MonteCarlo/LakeTahoe Lt.Green in color--.25centMonteCarlo purple)after the sale he showed me boxes with 200 of each in them and said "if you can sell these I can get more of them made" at that point I had nothing more to do with him. I now believe he is selling them on EBAY under the name JACKAS39 from Granada Hills, CA. WARN any body you know who might be affected or taken in."
As I said, on the numbers issue I have no information other than to say that whatever was meant by "get more of them made" it is clear to me that Segal's chips are real and not remakes.
