I would guess that the vast majority of disputes that arise are rather simple misunderstandings and failures to communicate.

The club has a claims director, but perhaps that position needs to be rethought. Perhaps the claims director could also act as a mediator to try to resolve these types of misunderstandings before they get out of hand.
