Just because it was not insured via the US Post Office does not mean necessarly mean the package was not "insured". Maybe this seller "self insures" the packages. I personally don't see a problem with that practice. If I pay the $1.10 (or whatever it is), I don't care who assumes the risk. I just know I paid for insurance and I'm covered in case of a loss. I guess I didn't think I was entitled to pick who the insurance carrier...
