That article, while very short, is also very incorrect. Like any item, counterfeits are technically possible, but not with "ease" as the article suggests. The type of equipment needed to create any modern card easily runs into the millions of $, which hardly justifies the cost of reproduction. Anyone with printing experience knows that without the original film/plates, it is nearly impossible to duplicate a printed item dot-for-dot. Some of the earlier silkscreened (raised printing) cards would be easier to duplicate, but a trained eye could easily spot one when compared to another.
