Having done janitorial work as a second job, I'm especially sensitive to their plight. It is sad to see what a guest will do to a room figuring that the houskeeper will clean it up.
I tip the houskeeper well, in a sealed envelope marked for them, and if the situation calls for it, tip extra generously. I just consider it a normal part of my trip expense.
I am also distressed when I see people who figure that just because they are playing in the nickels section of the casino, the drink servers don't have to work as hard to serve the drinks. I see people stiff the servers all the time. Almost worse, I see the customer tip the server maybe three nickels.
That's really insulting!
